Cloudy Mask Tag Tutorial

I claim the copyright to this tutorial. You are free to do whatever you please with what you make, but please do not take my tutorial and claim it as your own. Do not send the tutorial through email groups. Only share my link.

For this Tutorial you will need:

PSP 7 or 8

A Tube of your choice - An interesting tube with lots of color works best

The *Mask I used - Get it here. Right click and save in your Masks folder

*I do not know who the owner of this mask is, if it is yours, please contact me and I will give you proper credit and/or remove it if you do not want me using it for this tutorial*

MuRa’s Meister - Cloud Filter - Get it here. Put into your plug-ins Folder

Font of your choice

REMEMBER TO SAVE OFTEN

Let’s Begin:

1) Open your Tube and Resize it to a more workable size. Minimize
for use later.

2) Open the Mask and Minimize for use later.

3) Open a new 400x400, White Canvas, we will resize later.

4) Think of a name for this tag. For me its best to go ahead and name and save the tag right at the beginning and save throughout creating the tag - File/Save As/jpeg.

5) Add New Layer - Layers/New Raster Layer/Ok

6) Flood Fill with White

7) Open your tube and move it to the right hand side to use in the next step.

8) Now go to Effects/Plugins/MuRa’s Meister/Clouds and use these settings:

9) Make sure you use your Dropper and click on the BG color and choose a color from your tube that you have open.

10) Click OK

11) Minimize your tube again.

12) You will now have this:

SAVE

Note: Instructions 13 - 15 are for Version 7. If you are using PSP8, please click here for version 8 instructions. You will then be directed back here to continue with the rest of the instructions.

13) Now go to Masks/New/From Image - In Source Window, use the drop down to find the mask - SquareMask.jpg - The only thing checked is the: Source Luminance.

14) Click OK

15) Go to Masks/Delete - Click Yes to the Question

16) This is now what you should have:

17) This is huge, so lets resize it. I resized mine by 60% making sure Resize All Layers is NOT checked.

18) You can Sharpen at this point, or choose not too. It depends on how you like the way it turns out. Try both ways, using the undo.

19) Open up your Tube once again, Edit/Copy.

20) Go back to your canvas and Edit/Paste/As New Layer.

SAVE

21) Use your Mover tool to move your tube to the bottom left hand side. You can play around with this and position where you want depending on the kind of tube you have and how it looks best. You might even need to resize your tube again or even the mask background. Sharpen as needed.

22) Add a drop shadow to your tube using these settings, Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow:

23) We are almost done, at this point we should add our watermark if you have one. If you don’t, save and skip to Step 26.

24) Add a new layer - Layers/New Raster Layer/OK

25) Add Your watermark.

SAVE

26) Lets resize Now.

27) Click on your Crop tool and draw around your tag leaving enough room at the bottom for your name, adjust as needed to get what you want, then double click inside your tag and you will have your new size.

28) Lets Merge all the layers - Layers/Merge/Merge Visible

SAVE

29) Now let’s font this baby.

30) Pick out two colors from your tube using your Dropper tool. The outline and the fill. Mine is Black and Purple:

31) Click on your Text tool and adjust your settings as below using the font of your choice:

32) With the "ants" around your name, move your text to your desired position. Do not deselect.

33) Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the same Drop Shadow as in Step 22. Click OK.

34) Deselect - Ctrl D

35) Save it for the last time, Enjoy your new tag.
